Elite Hockey Player

Megan’s star has been steadily rising within the hockey world since she started playing at the age of five. She has been developing as a team leader and standout defenseman each year and at every level. In 2014, after captaining her team, the Oakville Hornets, to a provincial championship title, Megan was chosen to join the U14 World Selects Invitational International team, which won gold in Finland. In 2015, the tournament will be in Italy, where she hopes to repeat that success. Megan currently plays with the Stoney Creek Bantam AA Sabres and is a regular call-up to the women’s Midget AA team, playing with 17-year-olds.

Megan not only excels on the ice, but at school as well. Over the past four years, she has received the prestigious Citizenship Award, as well as awards for Excellence in Learning Skills and Academic Excellence. Megan has consistently been an honour student with distinction, and she participates in various team sports and sits on her school’s student council and athletic council.

Megan has set many goals for herself; these include playing for Team Ontario in the 2016 Canada Winter Games, playing for Canada’s National U18 Women’s Team, and – her biggest goal – one day playing for Canada’s National Women’s Team at the Olympic Games.

Megan is in Grade 8 and attends Hawthorne Village Public School.
